Interview Roundup: John McLaughlin
There have been few musicians as boundary-pushing and inspiring as John McLaughlin. Form his work with Miles Davis to his pioneering fusion ensemble Mahavishnu Orchestra, from his world music explorations (Shakti) to his collaborations with Carols Santana to his solo work, McLaughlin has never failed to impress.
As it happens, he’s a wonderfully warm and personable interview subject, too. I had the honor of meeting the man, shaking his hand and having him autograph Extrapolation, his first solo album. Here are some of my interviews with the master.

With a background in marketing and advertising, Bill Kopp got his professional start writing for Trouser Press.
