Audio Preview: James McMurtry – Live in Europe
Here’s an audio preview of the song “Bayou Tortue”, the opening track from James McMurtry‘s forthcoming album Live in Europe. His press kit quotes some heavy hitters:
The Village Voice called him “a poet of the people..” Stephen King, writing in Entertainment Weekly, pronounced him “the truest, fiercest songwriter of his generation.” The Austin Chronicle proclaimed, “This is no-frills, freak-flag rock. Turn it up!” PopMatters called it “a snapshot of where McMurtry is now, [marking him] as a legitimate inheritor of the Texas songwriting tradition.”
Live in Europe — available in both CD+DVD and LP+DVD formats — drops October 13. Meanwhile, enjoy “Bayou Tortue” in yet another format, good old mp3.
